David L. Eaton, age 63, passed away on September 11, 2021, at 9:02 pm, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.

David was born on December 22, 1957 in Lima, to Richard Eaton and Florence (Bohyer) Eaton, both of whom preceded him in death. Earlier in life, David proudly served with the United States Army. He worked at Trinity Industries in Lima for many years and eventually retired from Lima Memorial Hospital in 2020. David collected hats and was a major fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He was always outgoing and happy and was known for telling jokes and playing pranks. He was a member of Cridersville Church of the Nazarene, where he greatly enjoyed attending. He read the scriptures daily, and tried to follow the Bible by helping others in the way that Jesus would have. David was exemplary of what it means to be “Christ-Like.” He gave of himself easily and often, whether or not he had the means to do so. He was known for his knack for giving gifts, especially when it came to food. He was always helpful, and was defined by his kind and caring soul. Above all else, he enjoyed being with his family. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, who were more like surrogate children to him. He loved spending time with his siblings and their pets. David was an exceptional man and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Survivors include: siblings, Gary (Marianne) Eaton and Kimberly (Harold) Accord; nieces and nephews, Melissa Eaton, Joshua Eaton, Micah (Bonnie) Eaton, Patrick (Mayleen) Accord, Kim (Mike) Greene, and Kari (Chad) Ricketts; ten great nieces and nephews; and a great-great niece and nephew.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 4:00 p.m., at the Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes Shawnee Chapel.
Rev. John Spyker will officiate the service.
There will be a light luncheon following the service, at the funeral home. A public visitation will take place on Thursday, September 16, prior to the funeral from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., also at the Shawnee Chapel.
Memorial contributions will be appreciated by the family.
