David “Dave” H. Goff, 81, passed away on August 6, 2022, at 1:00 pm, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
David was born June 2, 1941 in Saltville, VA, to Daniel Goff and Eva (Buchanan) Compton who both preceded him in death. On October 8, 1960 he married Ruth (Fahnestock) Goff and they renewed there vows in 1997 in Israel right on the Sea of Galilee.
David attended Anna High School. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served from 1961 to 1965. David worked at Teledyne Ohio and Steel for eighteen years. He was a professional painter and painted various types of vehicles. David and his wife have been active members at Grace Baptist Church since 1972. He enjoyed working on his own cars and his Gold Wing motorcycle. He also was quite gifted at wood working. David was known as always being active and being on his feet doing something. Family was very important to him, he cherished his wife and loved his children and grandchildren dearly.
David is survived by his wife, Ruth Goff of Lima, OH, children, Terri (George) Tucker of Tipp City, OH, David “Mike” (Rhonda) Goff of Surprise, AZ, grandchildren, Reagan Goff of Lima, OH, Ryan Snyder of Lima, OH, Kaylee Fisher of Lima, OH, Savannah Snyder of Lima, OH, Colt Snyder of Lima, OH, siblings, Rachel (J) O’Quinn of NC, Norman (Carol) Goff of Goshen, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:30am at Grace Baptist Church, 1097 Fett Avenue, Lima, OH 45801. Pastor Matthew Oliver to officiate the service. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 10:30am until the time of the service.
