David E. Kayser, 55, died at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima OH surrounded by his loving family.
Dave was born July 18, 1965 in Lima, OH to the late C. Edward and Suzanne Kayser. On June 30, 2012 at Southside Christian Church he married Karen E. Kiggins. She survives in Elida.
Dave was a 1984 graduate of Lima Central Catholic. After high school he received a college baseball scholarship. Dave was a member of the Boy Scouts and had earned his Eagle Scout. He loved his family, country & God. He was his happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. Dave was a jack of all trades and loved to go camping & boating. Dave was an avid Notre Dame & Raiders fan. He enjoyed coaching his sons sports teams at Middle Point and Lincolnview. Dave also was a referee for football and basketball and umpired baseball in the area. He worked at Perry Protec in Lima and then worked at Lowe’s in Wapak. Dave was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Delphos.
He is survived by two sons, Austin (Jessica) Kayser of West Mansfield and Dalton Kayser of Van Wert; three “bonus” daughters, Kayla Nolan, Brittany (Corey) Peters and Lauren Nolan all of Lima; four sisters, Chris (Dan) McNamara of Punta Gorda, FL, Leslie (Deno) Kalomas of Thornton, CO, Becky (Randy) Moorman and Lisa (Tom) Sciranka all of Lima; seven nieces, Kayla (Kyle) Richards, Heather (Elmer) Noble, Anne (Luke Wood) Altstaetter, Kate (Hunter) Savage, Cynthia (Evan) Waggamon, Megan Harlan and Madison (aka “BOB”) Geise; Six nephews, Andrew (Sam) McNamara, Brian (Ashley) McNamara, Jakob Harvey, Carl (Josh) Moorman, Zachary (Bethany) Sciranka and Alex (Kylie Henderson) Geise; seven great nieces, Alanah and Makenzy Noble, Aaliyah Harvey, Lily and Ella Savage, Anna Graham and Eleanor Leiendecker; one great-nephew, Noah Wood. In laws, Keith and Sally Kiggins; three sister-in-laws, Julie Kiggins, Lisa (Dave) Harlan and Beth (Eric) Geise.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services – Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate the service. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Friends may call from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Monday December 7, 2020 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services – Shawnee Chapel.
The family requests that all attendees please observe COVID-19 guidelines. Masks and social distancing are required.
