David “Dee” Arnold Maisch, age 68 of Lima, passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at 3:35 am, Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Dee was born August 9, 1953 in Lima the son of Jack and Cecilia (Pflum) Maisch who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his brothers: John (Chey) Maisch of Fayetteville, NC; Jim (Dianne) Maisch of Lima; and Dan (Diane dec’d) Maisch of Westerville, OH, plus the following nieces and nephews: Stefanie & Corey, Matt & Aubrie, Zach & Jessi, Andrea & Stacey and Ashlyn.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary (Brandon) Lee.

He was a 1971 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School where he played basketball and baseball. He was also a 1975 graduate of Findlay College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Art. He also played basketball at Findlay College. He was the favorite uncle of all the nieces and nephews and he never told them NO. He was a wonderful artist, a great gardener and liked to play cards. He was a member of St. Gerard’s Catholic Church. The greatest joy in his life was being a personal caretaker of his niece Ashlyn from her birth through preschool, elementary and high school.

His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Mike Sergi officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery. A private family visitation will be held prior to the funeral service.
