Darrell E. Arnett, 57 of Lima, passed away May 22, 2022, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Darrell was born April 1, 1965 in Lima, to Elwood Arnett and Ona (Daniels) Kahler; his father preceded him in death and his mother survives him in Gloucester, IN.

Darrell attended Upper Scioto Valley High School and was a self-employed truck driver and construction worker. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Darrell loved riding his motorcycle, fishing and cooking; he was a wonderful cook. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters; they were his world. Darrell will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his mother, Darrell is survived by his son, Dustin (Melissa) Arnett, Sr.; grandchildren, Savanna Arnett, Naavah Arnett, Hannah Arnett, Avah Arnett and Adrianna Arnett; sisters, Nellie (Bobby Stemen) Smith, Michelle (Kyle) Lamar, Shonda Meeks, Chasity (Jason) Castle, Juanita (Mike) Park and Bonita Deweese; brothers, Calvin Arnett, Gary (Shirley) Kahler, Doug Kahler and Donnie (Paige) Kahler; girlfriend, Carrie Stenback; step-mother, Nancy Arnett; step-father, Don Kahler and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Dustin Arnett, Jr.; brother, David D. Arnett; maternal grandparents, Les & Bonnie Daniels and his paternal grandparents, Cash & Nellie Arnett.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL.
