Darlene Collins, age 86, passed away February 21, 2021, at 2:42 am, at the Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.

Darlene was born October 18, 1934, in Alger, OH, to Buel T. and Anna (Wheeler) Whitaker who preceded her in death. On February 4, 1951, she married Lee A. Collins who preceded her in death on June 21, 2006.

Darlene attended Ada High School. She was a mother first and foremost. She dabbled in many different occupations through the years. She was a life-time member of the Lima First Assembly of God.

Darlene is survived by her children: Elaine Walters of Lima, Robert E. Collins of Lima, Lee Allen (Donna) Collins of Lima, Debra Joseph of Ada, and Lynn (Dennis) Rennich of Lima, 7 grandchildren: Mike Walters, Wendy Moening, Amber Joseph, Sharon Golden, Sandi Golden-Vest, Jared Collins and Eric Collins, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by 16 siblings and a son in-law Bernie Joseph.

There will be a funeral service held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Randy Davis.

Burial will be in Fairview McDonald Cemetery following the service.

Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL.
