Darla K. Buettner, 71, passed away on October 13, 2021, at 1:22 am, at Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center.
Darla was born July 12, 1950 in Lima ,OH, to Herschel “Curly” and Wava (Dunlap) Buettner who both preceded her in death.
Darla graduated from Spencerville High School in 1968. She worked at BP Chemical, Lima Memorial Health Systems and Stites Grocery. Darla loved 4-H and spent forty one years as an advisor for the Saddle Pals. She was also involved with various horse organizations, clubs and was the youth advisor for OWHA. Darla was the Senior Horse Superintendent at the Allen County Fair. She was also a member at the Lima Eagles. Some of her other hobbies included crafting and going to garage sales. Darla loved her son Ty dearly and cherished spending time with her grandchildren very much.
Darla is survived by her son, Tyrel “Ty” Hardin of Waynesfield, OH, grandchildren, Ali Epperly, Wyatt Hardin, siblings, Glen (Norma) Hayes of Gahanna, OH, Sue (Rick) Mawhorr of Spencerville, OH, nieces and nephews, Roger (Patti) Hayes of Columbus, OH, Talonda (Dale) Walls of Rockford, OH, Diane (Matt) Hayes – Ardey of Columbus, OH, Jake (Chrissy) Mawhorr of Spencerville, OH, and several great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Allen County Horse Council or Saddle Paddles 4-H Club.
