Danny Joe Nevarez, 55, of Lima, passed away at 6:49 am on January 5, 2020, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Danny was born July 13, 1964 in El Monte, CA, to Robert Nevarez and Elizabeth Marie (Gibbons) Nevarez Whitson, who preceded him in death. On August 20, 2016, he married his “Wife for Life”, Bobbie Sue (McFarland-Spence) Nevarez, who survives him in Lima.
Danny was a 1982 graduate of Norte Vista High School in Riverside, CA. He was a crew leader and supervisor for fiber optic cable installation contractors across the nation. Danny retired and went on to volunteer with his wife at Restoration House of Lima, Inc. as part of the administrations team. He grew up in California around race horses as a trainer, handler and he hauled thoroughbreds to horse farms and race tracks across the nation. Danny loved the Lord, his family, fishing and country music.
In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Jesse) Parsons of Celina; son, Christopher (Kendra Specht) Nevarez of New Castle, IN; grandchildren, Draven Parsons and Addison Grace Parsons; step-sons, Charles Scott Maynard and Randy (Christina) Maynard, both of Lima; step-granddaughters Alana Maynard and Sarena Maynard; brothers, Allen (Bonnie) Nevarez of Hemet, CA and Jerry Nevarez of Lima; many nieces and nephews and his beloved pets, Cinder and Bobby Joe AKA Kitty-Kitty-Kitty.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2020 at First Church of the Nazarene, 300 W. Elm St., Lima, OH 45801, with Pastor Russ Thomas to officiate.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Danny’s widow, Bobbie Nevarez, to help her defray funeral costs and transition of life without her beloved husband.
