Dale A. Mayer, age 55, passed away November 6, 2021, at 10:16 pm, in a motor vehicle accident. Dale was born September 21, 1966, in Lima, OH, to Delbert J. and Carolyn F. (Dye) Mayer. His father survives in Lima and his mother preceded him in death.
Dale had attended Bath High School. After high school he took a job as a powder coater with Metokote where he worked for 16 years. He then transferred to Unverferth in Kalida where he also worked in powder coating for more than 20 years. Dale was a member of the Orioles in Lima. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle, the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing golf with his brother and friends Randy Hale and Shawn Dershem and hanging out with his friends. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his father, Dale is survived by his fiance, Kathryn Hunlock of Columbus Grove, OH, his children: Derek (Julie) Mayer of TN, Joshua (Lori) Mayer of Lima, OH, Matthew Mayer of Bluffton, OH and Taylor Harvey of Mooresville, NC, 4 grandchildren: Abigail, Lola, Caylee and Liam, his siblings: Jeffrey (Jodi) Mayer of Lima, OH, Vicki (Barry) Kohn of Dayton, OH, Ronald (Diane Williams) Mayer of Harrod, OH, Kevin (Dawn Greenwood) Mayer of Lima, OH and Melissa (Kevin Alves) Mayer of Lima, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Mayer.
There will be a memorial service held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Friends may visit on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
