Bluffton
Corrinne Catherine Boehr, 91, passed away February 4, 2023, at Willow Ridge – Betty House of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, Bluffton, Ohio. Corrinne was born March 23, 1931 in Long Beach, CA, to Orville and Margaret (Hartman) Kamp who preceded her in death. Her parents and she moved back to Washington, IL where she was raised and lived until her marriage on October 28, 1951 to Richard J. Boehr. They lived in and raised four sons in Bluffton, Ohio.
Corrinne was a graduate of Washington Community High School, Washington, Illinois and attended Bluffton University, Bluffton, OH for one year. She became a homemaker and over time, worked for Dr. Earl Lehman, head of the music department of Bluffton College at the time. In the early 80’s she became an office assistant for a local dentist. In 1987 she took a job as office assistant for Dr. Mark Steinmetz MD in Bluffton and retired in 1997.
She was a member of the Mother’s Night Out Club, Lions Club, and an active member of First Mennonite Church. Corrinne was in the senior choir, served on the Board of Deacons, the Senior Concerns committee and the Funeral Casket Ministry committee. She enjoyed collecting artistic renderings of roosters, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Boehr of Bluffton; three sons, Jeffrey N. (Beth) Boehr of Bluffton, OH, Douglas R. (Janine) Boehr of Waco, TX, and Thomas D. (Julie) Boehr of Lowell, MI; one daughter-in-law, Beth Ann Boehr-Miller; nine grandchildren, Jill (Steve) Lemley, Jamie (Christian) Nygaard, Joshua (Lisa) Boehr, Jacob (Erica) Boehr, Micah (Ariel) Boehr, Ashley Boehr, Zachary Boehr, Brittany Boehr, and Adam Boehr; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Corrinee was preceded in death by a son, Timothy A. Boehr; and a brother, Warren Kamp.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2023 at the First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Ruth Naylor officiating. A private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Friedenswald, Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, or an aid organization of the contributor’s choice.
