Clifford A. Boyer, age 53 of Lima, was called home Monday, Nov. 30, 2020.
He was born Sept. 15, 1967 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Ernest and Martha (Immele) Boyer. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Cridersville. On Sept. 11, 1993, he married Michele Hollenbacher who preceded him in death. He then married Kathleen “Kathy” Myers on June 9, 2009 and she survives in Lima.
Also surviving are Cliff’s son, Ryan Boyer of Lima; Kathy’s children, Emma Fruchey and Braxton Fruchey; a brother, Bryan Boyer of Urbana and a sister, Traci (Jim) Honegger of Cridersville; Kathy’s mother, Judy Myers of Lima and brother, Chris (Amy) Myers of McLean, VA. He is also survived by three nieces, four nephews, two great-nieces, and two great-nephews. He is also greatly missed by his beloved dogs, Shadow and Lulu.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jim Myers.
Cliff was a 1985 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and earned a degree from Lima Technical College. He was an Application Implementation Analyst II for American Trim in Lima and formerly a corporate IT manager at Bridgestone APM in Findlay. Cliff loved his family very much and will forever be remembered for his sense of humor. He was a member of Lima First Church, where he was active in the Children’s Ministry and previously was active in the Children’s Ministry at Lima Community Church. He previously served as an Upwards basketball coach and a Cub Scout Leader for Bath Pack 82. His favorite hobbies included camping, especially sitting around the campfire; fishing; gardening; going to baseball games; collecting baseball cards; bowling; and spending time with friends. He enjoyed computer programming and coding. Music touched his soul and was how God spoke to him many times.
Visitation will be Monday, December 14, 2020 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Lima First Church, 1660 Findlay Road, Lima. A celebration of Cliff’s life will begin at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Darrell Bucher officiating. A private burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.
