Christopher L. Newland, age 50 of Lima, passed away on April 30, 2021 at OSU-James Hospital, Columbus, from cirrhosis of the liver-non-alcoholic.

He was born Sept. 2, 1970 in Lima, to Larry and Marilyn (Gentry) Newland.

He was salesman at Reineke Ford, Findlay. Formerly, he was a salesman at Blockbuster for 12 years, and at JCPenney for over 18 years. He never met a stranger. He knew everyone’s name and their family history. He had many friends. His very BFF was his niece, Olivia. If he was not at work they were together. He will be missed by his family. He was a mama’s boy and did everything for her. He would help anyone he could. He was a big collector of Super Hero figures, DC and Marvel comics. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #370, Lima.

Surviving are his parents: Marilyn and Daryl Beaupre of Lima, father: Larry Newland of Lima, brothers: Keith Newland and John Newland both of Columbus; and a sister: Eva Newland of Lima; a nephew Kane Vastano of Columbus; nieces: Kaily Miller and Olivia Coller both of Lima; aunts and uncles: Tom & Betty Gentry of Oak Ridge, TN, Diane & Larry Stemen of Alabama, Paul & Margaret Newland of Las Vegas, NV and Dennis Newland of Lima.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Pastor Bernie Dickson to officiate the service. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery in a private family ceremony. Due to COVID 19, we request you to wear masks.
