Christina M. Johns, 93, went into the presence of her Lord and Savior, on March 18, 2022, at 10:45 am, at Van Crest of Ada.
Christina was born August 20, 1928 in Paulding County, OH, to Joseph and Hulda (Bartels) Hooker who both preceded her in death. On February 8, 1947 she married Roger A. Johns who preceded her in death on October 16, 2015.
Christina attended Shawnee High School. She was an assembler at Superior Metal and retired after twenty five years of service. Christina was a life member at Bethlehem Tabernacle, where she was very active being a Sunday School Teacher. She loved her children dearly and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christina was also known for her excellent cooking and baking.
Christina is survived by her children, Joe “Mike” Johns, Dan Johns, Pamela (Charles) Burnett, Sheryl (Richard) Bentley, Robert (Patricia) Johns, Laura (Bill) Clark, daughter-in-law, Beth Johns, fifteen grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren and brother, Edward Hooker.
Christina is preceded in death by her children, Terry Allen Johns, Kevin Johns, granddaughter, Wendy Johns, siblings, Harlan (Jan) Hooker, Bud (Ruby) Hooker, Florence (Arlo) Boroff, Teresa (Jim) Akom, and sister-in-law, Mary Hooker.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10:00 am at Chiles – Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Matthias Snodderly to officiate the service. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Shawnee Chapel.
