Chester Lee “Chet” Good, 89 of Elida, entered into his eternal rest on March 23, 2022, at his daughter’s home with her by his side.

Chet was born February 2, 1933 in Lima, to Jesse and Sarah Good, who preceded him in death. On March 27, 1953, he married Ruby (Hartman) Good, who preceded him in death on August 17, 2000.

Chet was a 1951 graduate of Gomer High School and a truck driver for Lima Building Supply. He was a self employed farmer, brick mason and a life-long member of Pike Mennonite Church. Chet enjoyed collecting antique glassware and coins, as well as singing and babysitting. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family; he was deeply loved and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Chet is survived by his children, Gary (Jennie) Good, Ken (Brenda) Good, Beverly (Kim) Brenneman and Robert (Zonya) Good; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Dave (Janet) Good; sister-in-law, Rhoda Hartman and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his half brothers, Sam (Dorothy) Ladd, Harold (Martha) Ladd and Everett (Kate) Ladd and his sister-in-law, Anna Good.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Pike Mennonite Church, 3995 McBride Rd., Elida, OH 45807, with Rev. Darwin Hartman to officiate the service. Burial will follow in Pike Mennonite Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Rescue Mission or Gideons International.
