Charles B. Wallace, age 74, was called into the presence of the Lord at 7:55 pm Saturday, June 26, 2021, after a courageous ten year battle with cancer.
Charles was born March 18, 1947 in Lima, OH, to Charles Wallace and Betty (Young) Wallace Melson. On June 7, 1969 he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia J. (Augsburger) Wallace.
Charles was a 1965 graduate of Bath High School. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 1969 and began his career at Lima Memorial Hospital. Charles worked for over 30 years for the Veterans Administration, working for the VA Hospitals in Chillicothe, Ohio, Butler, Pennsylvania and retired as Lab Supervisor for the VA Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida. Charles loved the Lord and was a member of the Peace River Baptist Church in Punta Gorda Florida. He enjoyed playing the Saxophone, loved his cats and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia J. Wallace of Lima; two sisters, Patricia (Edward) Simon and Pamela Wallace both of Puyallup, WA; niece, Shanan (Tim) Kercher and nephew, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Wallace both of Spanaway, WA; four brothers-in-law, Brad (Wanda) Augsburger of Lima, David (Yvonne) Augsburger of Lima, Kevin (Constance) Augsburger of Harrod, Jeff (Cathy) Augsburger of Lima; eight nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-mom, Georganna Wallace; sister, Vicki Lynn Wallace and brother, Dave Wallace.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 1, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Pastor William Turner will officiate the service. Entombment will follow in the Memorial park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, June 30, at the funeral home.
