Calvin “Romie” Ray Chambers, age 58 of Lima, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at 3:50 p.m. at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Calvin was born Feb. 10, 1963 in Lima to Franklin and Mary (Propst) Chambers who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his Mother-in-Law Susan (Evans) Mah of Albuquerque, NM. Surviving are his Fathers-in-Law Earl (Ruth) Stricker of Ft Wayne, IN and George Mah of Albuquerque, NM.

On Nov. 20, 1993, he married the love of his life and his best friend Amanda Grace (Stricker) Chambers who survives. His absolute favorite thing to do was to just spend time with her, no matter what they were doing.

Also surviving are their children: Randi (Thomas) Braddock of Bellefontaine, Nicole “Nikki” (Craig) Wheeler of New Albany, Tyler (Abbie Brincefield) Chambers of Columbus, Cole (Hailey) Chambers of Columbus, Gracan (Tearrik Allen) Chambers of Lima; Siblings: Kay (David) Veit of Ada, Marty (Cris) Chambers of Cridersville, Greg (Kathy) Chambers of Marysville, Jamie (Phil) Ness of Columbia City, IN; Brother-in-Laws Tom (Josie) Stricker and David (Misty) Stricker; and five grandchildren: Landon and Leah Braddock, Ashton and Kendall Wheeler and Winnie Allen. He also leaves behind eight nephews and their families whom he loved very much: Corey (Alyson) Veit, Bryan (Heidi) Chambers, Joel (Robyn) Chambers,, Derek (Amber) Chambers, Devin (Lauren) Chambers, Anthony & Ayden Roach and Tanner Stricker.

Calvin was a graduate of Wapak High School in 1981. Everyone there knew him as Romie and he cherished the countless fond memories he had while growing up. If you didn’t know him by his infectious smile, you definitely did by his 80’s style mullet! He attended the Bridge Church usually virtually. He was employed at Honda Manufacturing in Anna. He was previously employed at Coca-Cola and before that Pepsi-Cola. If he had his choice of things to do, being around his kids, family and friends would always be number one. He did love being outdoors or spending some time in his garage working on his cars and motorcycles. He always cheered for the Bucks on Saturdays and his beloved Browns on Sundays. He had the biggest heart and would always try to help out anyone in need.

Visitation will be Sunday, from Oct. 17, 2021 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. His funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday in the funeral home, with Rev. Randy Davis officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House or Deb’s Dogs.
