Brian Patrick Burke, age 52 of Elida, passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2020, at 11: 05 p.m. at his residence.

Brian was born Oct. 3, 1968 in Chicago, IL, to Thomas Burke and Lorraine (Pleva) McKiernan. His father and mother preceded him in death.

Surviving are his daughters whom he dearly loved: Madolyn E. Burke of Toledo, Kenzie M. Burke of Lima and Loren R. Burke of Elida along with their mother, Lori C. Burke; brother, Elliot (Holly) Burke of Lima; sister, Alexa (Scott) Gross of Lima; stepfather, Mike McKiernan of Lima; girlfriend, Heather Liddle of Lima, grandmother, Carmel Pleva of Lima; along with many nieces and nephews, an uncle and aunts.

Brian was a 1987 graduate of Shawnee High School and attended the University of Toledo. He then served in the Army Reserves. He became a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 776 and was a Licensed Master Plumber. Proud of his Irish heritage, he loved reading history and watching documentaries. He was a BBQ pit master, enjoyed taking care of his yard, watching the New Orleans Saints with his favorite daughter, Loren and throwing 4th of July parties. Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, taking long drives through the country looking at houses and farms, and donating to children’s charities. He was well-admired by his family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021 from 2-6 p.m. at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. His funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 1275.

Memorial contributions may be made to August Pleva Memorial Scholarship at St. Charles Catholic School.
