Bobby L. Thompson, age 73, passed away January 26, 2021, at 12:00 pm, at the Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. Bobby was born February 23, 1947, in Pineville, KY, to Daniel Boone and Bertha B. (Fuson) Thompson who preceded him in death.
Bobby had worked with Time-Warner Cable for more than 30 years retiring in 2013. He was a member of Lima Missionary Baptist Church. Bobby loved flea markets, auctions, dirt track racing at Lima Land Speedway, his beloved mustang and most of all his family.
Bobby is survived by his children: Tabatha Thompson, Chad Thompson and Sheris (James “Andy” Houston) Thompson, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a brother in-law, Thomas Leis of Lima, OH and a sister in-law, Carolyn Thompson of Lafollette, TN. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Marie (Arie) Jones, Inez (Bill) Black and Bonnie Leis and a brother, Jimmy Thompson.
There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Lima Missionary Baptist Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Terry Brock. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 pm and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Lima Missionary Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Missionary Baptist Church. The family has entrusted the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL in assisting them with funeral arrangements.
