Billy “Bill” Mason Kirkpatrick, age 86 of Lima, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021 at 12:39 p.m,. Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Bill was born Mar. 3, 1935 in Birmingham, AL, to Matthew and Ara (Whitmire) Kirkpatrick who preceded him in death. On Feb. 21, 1953 he married Martha Jean Foltz and she preceded him in death on May 12, 2003. On July 30, 2011 he married Linda Schwarck Kirkpatrick and she survives.
Also surviving are his sons: Terry (Beth) Kirkpatrick of Webster, NY; Michael Kirkpatrick of Columbus, OH; Timothy (Tracy) Kirkpatrick of Lima and Mark (Melissa) Kirkpatrick of Harrod; a daughter-in-law, Barbara (Steve) Brantner of Prattville, AL; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Linda’s children: Cindy (Dan) Collins of West Chester, OH and William Reed of Mascott, FL; 5 step grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Juanita Horstman of Aberdeen, MS.
Bill is preceded in death by two sons, William Douglas Kirkpatrick and Roger Lee Kirkpatrick and the following siblings: Walter Kirkpatrick, Elbert Kirkpatrick, Douglas Kirkpatrick, Laura McCrea and Joyce Fogt.
Mr. Kirkpatrick retired from the Ford Motor Co., Lima Engine Plant after 27.5 years, finishing his career in the shipping/receiving department. He attended Calvary Bible Church. Golf was his life and he was one of the top golfers in Lima in his younger days. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving, skating, carpentry and woodworking.
Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021 at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, with Pastors Keith Hamblen, Larry Schwarck and David Stratton to officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour before services on Wednesday.
