Our precious mother, Billee L. Bayes, age 69 of Lima, OH., peacefully passed away Monday, December 21, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Cape Coral, FL surrounded by her loving family. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through her 18 month battle with cancer.
Billee was born December 9, 1951 in Lima, OH, to William and Bettye (Dye) Harper who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two loving sons: Joseph Makley and Christian Bayes.
Billee is survived by her children: Charity (Jeff) Kinkle of Cape Coral, FL, Joshua (Christy) Makley of Lima, OH, Jesse Makley of Lima, OH, Zachary (Miranda) Makley of Lima, OH, Brooke Bayes of Lima, OH and Caterina Bayes of Lima, OH: sisters: Merry Shaffer, Cherie Harper, and Lisa (Tony) Camacho of Lima, OH, daughter-n-law: April Makley, 24 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Billee graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1970. She was a member of Cornerstone Church where she taught children’s ministry for many years. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. She retired in 2015 from Keystone Meats. Billee was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Maw-Maw and GG.
Our mother’s unwavering faith in God will be a constant reminder that our greatest treasure is Jesus Christ. While we were growing up, she taught us the word of God and to always lean on him. We will miss her deeply but find comfort in knowing that there is one more angel in Heaven.
