Betty Jean Nicolet, age 95 of Lima, passed away Friday, Jan 29, 2021, at 6:20 a.m., in Primrose Retirement Community of Lima.

She was born Mar. 11, 1925 in Lima to Walter and Marie (Schaefer) Martin who preceded her in death. On Apr. 1, 1945, she married Dwight F. Nicolet who preceded her in death on Mar. 4, 2014.

Survivors include her sons: Larry (Joan) Nicolet of Zionsville, IN, and Dan D. (Marylon) Nicolet of Denton, TX; grandchildren: Mindy Lyn Nicolet of Zionsville, Molly Lea (Brian) Tuminello of Naperville, IL, Mark (Meg) Nicolet of Lakewood, CO and Jessica Jean Nicolet of Austin, TX; step-grandchildren: Ashlee (Todd) Cawthorn, of Flower Mound, TX and Michelle Russell of Amarillo, TX; four step great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a nephew and several nieces.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Martin.

She was a longtime member of South Side Christian Church, active in their Friendly Christians Class. She was an active player of tennis and golf and scored a hole in one at the age of 54. She and her husband were members of the “Pinochle Gang” and members of a Bridge Club. She was a wonderful mother and followed her sons in their sports careers, being a fan in the stands. She was a 1943 graduate of Lima South High School and was a legal secretary for over 20 years for Ray Roberts and Ed Pedlow, attorneys.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery. with Rev. Todd Cosart to officiate the service. Burial will follow.
