Betty J. Sholler, 82, of Lima passed away at 1:15 AM on August 19, 2022 at Lost Creek Care Center.

She was born on August 21, 1939 in Lima, OH, to Clarence S. and Rachael (Butler) Hughes, who both preceded her in death. On July 7, 1961, she married Russell ‘LeRoy’ Sholler, who preceded her in death on April 8, 1989.

Betty retired as the housekeeping supervisor at Lima Memorial Hospital. After retirement, she volunteered at the hospital and made quilts to be used in the pediatric department. She loved collecting angels and elephants. She was always the sweetest woman and everyone loved her. She loved southern gospel quartets, especially Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. She loved reading her Bible.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Brown of Lima, OH; her grandchildren Michael Brown, Jason Brown and Angie (David) Allen; her great-grandchildren Isabella Brown, Annalee Brown, Savanna Jester and Olivia Jester.

She was preceded in death by her son David Jester; her brothers Don and James Hughes; her sisters Dorothy and Rosemary Hughes.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL, with Rev. Jonathon Spyker, officiating.

Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery will immediately follow the services.
