Bluffton
Barbara Jean Slapin, 87, passed away November 9, 2020 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. Barbara was born July 12, 1933 in Bluffton to the late Arthur and Cleota “Cody” (Lanning) Lewis. She was married to Billy Slapin who preceded her in death.
Barbara graduated from Bluffton High School. She retired from Jana’s Coatcheckers in New York City. Barbara enjoyed listening to audio books, was very artistic and loved her grandchildren and her cats, Buffy and Booty.
Survivors include two children, Jana Slapin of Bluffton, Deron (Roberlyna) Slapin of Paterson, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Blaze and Dexel Slapin; sister, Mary Coletta of Bluffton and a brother, Ray Lewis of Chicago, Illinois.
Barbara was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Cripe.
Private graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
