Audrey Jean Rex, age 89, was called home to the Lord at 12:00 pm Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Wyngate Senior Living Community – Lima

Jean was born March 12, 1931 in Lima, OH, to Audrey M. O’Lary and Walter G. Binke. On June 9, 1951 she married Harry E. Rex who preceded her in death on February 22, 2010.

Jean retired from Continental Plastics. She was a dedicated homemaker and loved taking care of her family. Jean was a member of South Side Christian Church for over 50 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Robert M.) Mohler of Lima; grandchildren, Kristina (Robert) Stratton, Victoria Nichols, Austin R. (Ashley) Mohler, Jennifer Rex, Julie Rex, Bridget Rex, Joe Shelby; daughter-in-law, Wendy Rex of Lima; sixteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Eurella Scott and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Virgil Ray Wheeler; son, Charles J. Rex and infant sister, Gwendolyn Wheeler.

Private funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Saturday, January 16, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Wanda Werking will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am Saturday, January 16, prior to the service at the funeral home.

A mask and social distancing is required, due to COVID-19.
