Arnold “Arnie” Couch Jr., age 66, passed away March 16, 2022, at 5:35 am, at the Defiance Hospice Inpatient Center. Arnold was born May 26, 1955, in Hazard, KY, to Arnold and Marie (Henson) Couch who preceded him in death.
Arnold was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He had worked as a corrections officer for more than 20 years and retired from Allen Correctional Institution. Most recently, he had been working for Allied Security at the Husky Refinery. Arnold was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and he loved skydiving, amusement parks, landscaping, cooking and working with his hands. He loved his fur baby, “Chrissy Star”.
Arnold is survived by his children: Ted Couch of VanWert, OH, Marcus (Christina) Couch of Minster, OH, Chris (Bethanee) Couch of Akron, OH and Joe Couch of Lima, OH, 7 grandchildren: Zach (Jessica) Hoverman, Mathew (Kayla Albertson) Borror, Ashley Borror, Chandler Couch, Dawson Couch, Brianna Couch and Devin Couch and a great grandson, Neo Borror and one great grandchild on the way, a close friend, Nancy Webb of Lima, OH, and his previous spouses, Jean Ann Funk and Cheryl Geisman. He was preceded in death by 8 siblings.
There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Pastor Randy Davis. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, VanWert, OH following the service where military rights will be provided by the U.S. Army.
Friends may visit on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm and then again from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
