Alice Bruno Hayhurst, 99, passed away at 4:19 am September 17, 2021 at Lima Convalescent Home.

Born to Ora and Ethel (Dear) Newland on April 17, 1922 in Alger, OH. She is the last survivor of 7 siblings. Alice attended school in Alger, Fredericks Beauty School in Lima (owning and operating her own beauty salon in Ada). She retired from Textron Corp. in 1976. She was married to Patrick Bruno for 45 years who died in 1983.

They are survived by Sandy DeStefano (Chesterfield, MO) and Bob (Sharon) Bruno (Hebron, KY). She also has 4 grandchildren: Erin Shocklee, Eric (Heather) DeStefano, Jason (Susan) Bruno, and Jennifer (Rob) Forcey and 8 great-grandchildren. She married Ed Hayhurst who died in 2001. At different times of her life Alice lived in Phoenix, AZ, St. Louis, MO, Winterhaven, FL, and returned to Lima in 1991.

Alice loved to paint, cook, and entertain. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Alice will be greatly missed by family and friends, whose lives she touched in so many ways.

Friends may call from 9:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am Saturday, September 25, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Father David Ross officiating, with a luncheon to immediately follow at Shawnee Chapel.
