Alex R. Ball, 69, passed away on January 17, 2022, at 10:28 pm, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Alex was born September 18, 1952 in Lima, OH, to Raymond Ball and Evelyn (Dunahay) Woodward who both preceded him in death. On June 26, 1971 he married Anita (Smith) Ball who survives in Lima, OH.
Alex attended Elida High School. Alex was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved his family dearly and cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. Alex found great joy in driving his 1994 Corvette. Some of his other hobbies included: bowling, drinking beer and playing softball with his friends. He was a member of the Elks Lodge – B.P.O.E. #54, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199 and American Legion – Post 96 Lima, OH.
Alex is survived by his wife, Anita E. Ball of Lima, OH, children, Lori (Bill) Rickett of Lima, OH, Chrissy (Derrick) Grabill of Streetsboro, OH, siblings, Evelyn Bowers of Lima, OH, Bettie (Jim) Foust of Lima, OH, Jerrie (Ray) Custer of Lima, OH, Jackie Howard of Alger, OH, Denise Moening of Elida, OH, Patty Wells of Alma, NE, Cindy Woodward of Lima, OH, grandchildren, Alyssa Rickett of Lima, OH, Deven and Christopher Grabill both of Streetsboro, OH.
Alex is preceded in death by his siblings, Mike Ball, David Ball, Rick Ball, Kim Carmen and brothers-in-law, Joe Bowers, Rod Moening and Hayden Howard.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:30am at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Charlotte Hefner to officiate the service. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 21. 2022 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
