Alan Keith Hartzog, 63 of Lima, passed away unexpectedly December 8, 2022, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Alan was born September 1, 1959 in Lima to Harry and Martha (Myers) Hartzog who survive him in Lima.

Alan was a 1978 graduate of Elida High School and he worked at Spartan Nash for 30 years before his retirement in January of 2021. He was a private pilot for some time, a car enthusiast and he loved watching football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs. Alan was a proud Eagle Scout, an avid fisherman who enjoyed crackin’ a cold one and he enjoyed collecting model trains. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, Alan is survived by his children, Brett (Samantha Miller) Hartzog, Troy (Angel) Hartzog and Michelle Hartzog; grandchildren, Bailey Hartzog, Mason Hartzog and Reghan Hartzog; brother, Terry (Roseanne) Hartzog; sister, Kim (Brian) Hollar and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 6:00 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES – SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Pastor Scott Long to officiate the service.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
