Robert P. “Bob” WAGNER, age 93, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018.
Bob was born December 20, 1924 in Sidney, OH, to the late Paul P. and Laura O. (Klink) Wagner. On October 2, 1954 he married the girl across the street, Mary E. (Lachey)Wagner. They were married 63 wonderful years.
Bob was a 1942 graduate of Holy Angels Catholic High School in Sidney, Ohio. After high school he proudly served as a Medical Corpman in the United States Navy during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. In 1951 he received his B.S. in Pharmacy from The Ohio State University. Bob worked as Chief Pharmacist at St. Rita’s Medical Center and retired from Reamans Pharmacy, after more than 50 years of service. He was a dedicated pharmacist who enjoyed crossword puzzles, big band music and playing the piano. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #96, the Disabled American Veterans DAV and The Ohio State Pharmaceutical Association. He was a dedicated member of St. Gerard Catholic Church.
He is survived by a family who loved him dearly, wife, Mary E. Wagner of Lima; three children, Lynne Wagner of Lima, Lori (Howard) Terry of Utica and Lisa Wagner of Delphos; five grandchildren, David Terry of Utica, Emily (Jason) Lee of Delphos, Andrew Wagner of Delphos, Kate (Joshua) Niehues of Willows, CA and Nicholas Terry of Utica; five great-grandchildren, Garrett, Alivia, and Morgan Lee, Alyssa (Curtis White) Lee, Mabel Niehues and a great great-grandson, Abel White.
He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Martha Wagner – Beckley of Fairbury, IL and Judy Cook of Fort Loramie and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, William (Jane) Wagner, Joe (Sally) Wagner and Gerald Wagner; sister, Melba (Herbert) Stratman and brother-in-law, Garold Cook.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 240 W. Robb Ave, Lima, Ohio 45801. Father Mike Sergi will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy and the VFW#1275.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. A Rosary Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
