Patricia “Pat”A. Mooney, age 77, passed away January 5, 2018, at 6:55 pm, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Pat was born August 18, 1940, in Mansfield, OH, to Charles Edgar and Viola Elizabeth (Daugherty) Sargent who preceded her in death. On July 5, 1959, she married Charles “Chuck” L. Mooney who preceded her in death on March 21, 2016.

When Pat was younger she had worked at the “original” Milanos as a waitress. In 1983, she took a position at the Market St. Presbyterian Church as an administrative assistant, worked there until she retired in 2014, where she was also a member and deacon. When her children were young, she and her husband were very active in the Elida Band Boosters. Pat was a “mom” to whoever needed a bed, a meal or a shoulder to lean on.

Pat is survived by her children: P. Diane (Scott) Conner of Lima, OH, David Charles (Denise) Mooney of Lima, OH, Brad William Mooney of Alexandria, VA and Dawn Elizabeth Mooney of Lima, OH, 14 grandchildren: Andrew (Alisha) Conner, Beth (Tyler) Jackson, Becky Conner, Debbi (Chris) Dotson, Emily (Eric) Olson, Madeline Mooney, Brooke Rudasill, Easton Rudasill, Alexis Mooney, Brady Mooney, Brennan Mooney, Jacob Leppla, Jackson Leppla and James Leppla, 8 great grandchildren, 4 brothers: Jack (Debbie) Sargent, James (Judy) Sargent, Jeffrey (Vicki) Sargent and John Sargent, 2 sisters: Marlene (Gary) Cline and Margaret “Pegg” Sargent.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Holly Mooney and a brother, Jay Sargent.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 6:00 pm, at the Market St. Presbyterian Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dottie Kaiser.

Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date.

Friends may call on Thursday from 3-6 pm at the Market St. Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Market St. Presbyterian Church.

The family has entrusted the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL in assisting the family with arrangements.
