Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor David Lanquist officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery where military rites will be performed. Visitation will be Monday from 5::00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Leland D. Badertscher, 98, passed away September 4, 2018 at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. Leland was born July 7, 1920 in Allen County, Ohio to the late Arthur and Lydia (Seyer) Badertscher. On October 11, 1944 he married Ima Jean Montgomery Badertscher who preceded him in death on June 4, 2016.
Leland graduated from Pandora High School, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from the Lima Ford Engine Plant. He was a member of Riley Creek Baptist Church, Bluffton and the American Legion Post #382, Bluffton. Leland enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Honse of Findlay, Karen (Donald) Brown of Bluffton; six grandchildren, Dave (Andrea) Honse, Linda (Scott) Deal, Chad (Raechel) Brown, Jason Brown, Cindy (Dennis) Lee, Angela (Jacob) Carr; twelve great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Leland was preceded in death by a son, Roger Badertscher; a son in law, Dave Honse; three brothers, Leonard Badertscher, Lorain Badertscher, Lester Badertscher and a sister, Lucille Hunt.
