Larry Glenn Arthur, 80, of Lima, passed away at 2:42 AM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at his residence after suffering from cancer for four years.

Larry was born on August 19, 1937 in Auglaize County to Elliott and Edith (Morris) Arthur, who preceded him in death. On July 23, 1960, he married Joyce (Stacy) Arthur, who survives in Lima.

Larry graduated from Waynesfield High School in 1955 and joined the US Army in 1956 and spent two years in Germany. He worked at Neon Products from 1955 until 1977 and retired from Jack’s Sign Company in 2003. He was a member of The Electrical Union Local 32.

Larry loved to spend time with his grandchildren, gardening, time at his barn in the country and at the lake house.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his two sons Gregory (Susan) of Atlanta, GA and Brad (Rayleen) of Lima; four grandchildren Trevor (Tara) Arthur, Bailey Arthur both of Lima, Michelle (Adam) Hezlep and Sarah (Josh) Wheeler, both of Atlanta, GA; eight great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by one sister Genelle (Donald) Reed of Lebanon, OH; one brother-in-law Tom (Ann) Stacy of Florida; one sister-in-law Judy (Bill) Schultz of Lima; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters Rosemary (Roger) Alexander, Martha (Robert) Flinn, Pat (Dan) Reinhart and Shirley Stiff.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL.

Memorial services will immediately follow the visitation at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jean Horn, officiating.

Private interment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Children’s Developmental Center at Lima Memorial Hospital or St. Rita’s Hospice.
