Elizabeth M. “Bette” Frysinger, 94, of Lima passed away at 8:40 AM on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Liberty Health Care, Lima.
She was born on August 14, 1922 in Allen County to Robert J. and Esther L. (Bigelow) Metzger, who both preceded her in death. She married Ralph C. Frysinger, who preceded her in death.
Bette was a hard worker and her career started as a manager at The Leader Shopping Center in downtown Lima. She also was employed with Excello. She entered the Cosmetology field as a manager at Kenneth’s Beauty Salon. Bette then purchased and became the owner and operator of The Institute of Fredrick’s Beauty College from where she retired in 1985. Her time as an instructor with Frederick’s and her students served as her pride and joy. She was a member of the Ohio Cosmetology Association, St. John’s Catholic Church, Lima and its Altar and Rosary Society, the Eagles Aerie 370, Lima and was a life member of the VFW Post 1275 Auxiliary.
Bette enjoyed dancing, bowling, trips to Mexico and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered by her family and friends as a fun loving, witty and charming and a beautiful, laugh provoking story teller.
Surviving are her son Tod Frysinger; her sister Norma Wannamaker; her grandchildren Julie Osting Jackson, Michele Osting, Joey Dodd, Danielle Potter and Mason Potter; her seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sondra L. Osting; her grandson Paul Osting; her brothers Henry and William Metzger; her sisters Helen Miller and Mary Pohlman.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Gethsemani Cemetery.
