DELAWARE — Beth Lauber, 90, died on October 6, at the Inn at Olentangy Trail in Delaware, Ohio.
Born in 1928, she grew up in Delphos, Ohio, during the Depression. She was an editor for the school newspaper and especially close to her father, Robert, an electrician, who she assisted with his repairs. After marrying Robert Lauber and moving to Lima, she was a long-term member of the Child Conservation League. She worked for the Lima City Schools, volunteered at Lima Memorial Hospital and knit hats for newborn infants. She worked as a computer operator at Vistron in Lima. An intrepid traveler, she ventured to Hawaii, London and Paris and regularly visited her daughter in New York. She was an avid supporter of Lima public schools and sports.
She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Detoh Kiggins, and her husband, Robert Lauber. She is survived by a brother, Keith Kiggins, her son Scott Lauber and Trois, his wife of Powell, OH, and daughter Lynn Lauber of Nyack, NY along with her grandchildren, Brandon Lauber and wife Megan, Ashley Lauber, and Rebecca Denton. Her great grandchildren include Taylor Denton, Evie Lou Lauber and Frankie Lauber. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Monday at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday at Memorial Park Mausoleum. Condolences may be expressed at chiles-lamanfh.com.
